Hi, all and welcome back to the Mindset Coach Academy podcast. My name is Lindsey Wilson and it's Mental Monday. Guys, Mental Monday is where we take like, I don't know, five minutes or so and talk about one tip, tool or technique that can help you in your life like today or this week. And I want to talk about one of the concepts that we use in our certification and what really all of our programs, our certification, the mental game plan, our six-week mental game plan program for coaches, even our insider mastermind, what the coaches have been with me for a while and then they joined our mastermind now for the certification, like really all of our programs because it's just fundamental to the coach-student relationship. I think it's just, it's the mentality that I think is the most productive, it's the most helpful and frankly it's the best for me to help people, like it just works and it's this, going into any situation. So you think about any doctor's appointment or retreat or workshop you're going to go to or coaching program or workout class or whatever and it's this, say this thought to yourself, I'm going to get what I came for.
I'm going to get what I came for. It's not on the instructors, it's not on them to read my mind. It's not on the whatever, the practitioner or the coach or the per service provider to read my mind and anticipate everything.
It is my job to communicate what I need, it's my job to ask for what I need, it's my job to show up and do the work and really be clear about what I want to get out of it. Now that's not to mean you can never be disappointed or you cannot have bad experiences or that it's your fault, that's not what I mean. I just mean that when you have that mentality, it's sort of like the difference between going into any situation with your arms crossed, leaning back and being basically like, you know, show me, convince me versus like front of the class scribbling notes and like the there to like get it, right. And I think there's a lot of nuance in between.
I don't want saying that everybody's like sitting back with their arms crossed. But I think that visual is helpful because if you're not leaning forward and you're not intent on getting what you came for the very first time you get confused or the practitioner doesn't do what you think that they should do, then you're not invested in communicating what's not working. You're not invested in your brain figuring out ways to get what you came for.
You're sitting back and you're letting an obstacle or a feeling get in the way of you getting what you came for. Instead of like, that is just how I show up. When you show up that way and you believe in that concept, you just get more out of it. I have seen it time and time again. And again, it's I think it's coming from a place of real empowerment and agency and belief in yourself that you are the kind of person that when you decide to do something, when you put money, when you commit to something, you show up and you make sure to get what you need. I mean, how awesome is it to feel that and how much better results are you going to get when you embody that? So say it with me. Whatever you're doing this week or this weekend or today, you have something in the future that you're a student or you're a patient or you're something. I'm going to get what I came for.
Period. And then go do it. Go do it. All right, guys. That's all I got. See you again next week for Mental Monday.
Bye for now.
