Welcome to the Mindset Coach Academy Podcast. I'm Lindsey Wilson and I am a high-performance Mindset Coach, a mom, a former professional athlete, and an entrepreneur. Here you'll learn all about mindset, how to live it, how to teach it, and how to sell it. Hi, all, and welcome back to the Mindset Coach Academy Podcast. My name is Lindsey Wilson and it's Mental Monday where we talk about one-tip tool or technique that you can implement in your life. I am excited because I'm in between pre-enrollment calls for our fall MCA certification. We just had a ton of people enroll, or I should say book calls for pre-enrollment and actually they're enrolling too. I don't know, it always fires me up because I get so excited about people finding us. Literally, there are so many people that come to us and they're like, oh my God, where have you been? I've been looking to do this in my life and I wasn't exactly sure how to do it and I was looking at life coaching and holistic coaching and going back to school and all the things and none of them felt right and I wasn't sure how to put it all together and we found you.
I don't know, I just wanted to share that because it really makes my heart sing and it just puts me in a high vibe immediately. I try to record podcasts after that because I'm jamming. Speaking of, here is your reminder to do the thing that makes you feel strong. Do the thing that makes you feel strong. Now, we have to figure out what makes us strong or makes us feel strong.
I think a lot of us know if we ask ourselves that question, which is sometimes hard to do in the busyness of life. I'm telling you this as usual because I wasn't doing it. As many of you know, I'm like, I love working out. It's not even a discipline thing.
It's like a, how does Lindsey not lose her mind thing? Also, I just feel my best self when I work out. It doesn't mean it's every day, whatever, but it's often.
I feel just more myself when I work out. Here's what was happening. I hurt my back. I think it was, it might have been during COVID.
I don't know. I think it was maybe after baby number three. I was feeling so good after. I had C-sections. There was a little bit of time when you couldn't really do much.
Then as I got back into it, I think it was COVID because I mean, we had time. I was like, oh my God, I want to lift. It felt so good to lift heavy. Then I hurt myself. And I was like, MF, like this sucks. And it took a long time for it to heal.
Like it was, and I'm telling you, because the C-section is a lot, I think a lot of it was pelvic floor and like lower abdominal weakness after, you know, that happens with all pregnancy, well, a lot of pregnancies too. But, and I didn't, you know, as an athlete, like I'm used to the bigger muscles, right? Like I just, anyway, this is a whole podcast on itself. But anyway, so I hurt myself, took a ton of time to rehab and like, I was so annoyed. And so knock on wood, I've been good. Like lifting, exercising, like, you know, pretty good. A little injuries here and there, but like mostly I'm good. But I think after that, I continued to lift when as soon as I got better, but I didn't, I wasn't really like heavy lifting.
And, you know, I still, a lot of it is at my house. So I'm not, you know, I guess like, sometimes I go to the gym, but I don't do a lot of like the crazy heavy because I don't have a bar and that kind of thing. But I have adjustable dumbbells. And so a couple of weeks ago, I was like, I think I need to start lifting heavier with more rest, but like really like activating my central nervous system and like getting those like deep squats, dead lifts, like just with things, exercises that I've been doing, been doing safely, but just doing them with more weight, with also more rest, okay? And I started doing it again.
And I was like, holy shit, like this feels amazing. And I started thinking about like, how often we either forget what makes us strong or we get busy and don't do it or we don't ask ourselves the question on like, what makes you feel strong? And it doesn't have to be like physically strong. Like I'm talking about, it could be, you know, having great conversations with a girlfriend or your husband or your wife or whatever, like what makes you feel strong? Or maybe it's not drinking, maybe it's eating really healthy, maybe it's eating more protein, maybe it's self-care, whatever it is, like what makes you feel the strongest?
And then can you get more of it in, right? Like that is such a key part of really any kind of mental training is again, asking yourself, and we've done this before, it's like, what has worked in the past? That simple question can be really, really helpful because if you're of any age, you have some life experience, you have some things that have worked, why we get away from doing them and like forget that they worked.
I don't know, don't know no answer to that, we just do, we all do it. And so today, you know, that's why I love the mental Mondays, it's just like one little thing, while you're emptying the dishwasher, while you're out for a walk, what is the thing that makes you feel strong? What is it? And how can you get more of it in your life? That's my challenge for you to do because hey, you have a wealth of knowledge and life experience and you know a lot about yourself.
Sometimes it's just about asking the right question. All right guys, that's all for me. We'll see you next time for Mental Monday.
