Hi all, and welcome to the Mindset Coach Academy podcast. My name is Lindsey Wilson. It is Mental Monday. Y'all I'm actually sitting in my car because our house is under construction, and it's crazy in there.

We're down to one bathroom for well, right now, there's seven people. Actually, right now, there's eight people because we have some people visiting. So that's interesting. But let's talk today about one tip, tool or technique that you can implement in your life today or this week.

And let me tell you, I am practicing this myself, and it's this. Often we want the big tools. We want, okay, I'm going to meditate, or I'm going to do visualization or I'm going to journal, and obviously we teach all that stuff.

That stuff's great. But one of the simplest things you can do that will absolutely change your experience of your life, and it's free, and it takes no time at all is be aware of your thoughts. And the second layer to that is be aware that your thoughts are thoughts.

Let me say that again. Be aware that your thoughts are thoughts. So we have to be aware of our thoughts, and then we have to recognize that they are thoughts. And what this does is this allows us to recognize that we have agency over our life because our thoughts can be shifted.

Our situation, our circumstances, the things that are facts in our life often cannot be changed in a moment's notice. There are things that we can do to change them, but in the moment, often, there's very few things that we can do right then.

We can, however, pay attention to our thoughts. And when we are aware that they are thoughts, we recognize that we have so much more power. We also will recognize that we are creating things in our life based on our thoughts.

How we show up, how we behave, how we act, the things we do, the things we don't do based on those thoughts. And again, they're kind of like a silent driver of life. If we are aware of them, then we take the power back and say, no, this isn't creating what I want.

So I need to shift these thoughts. Again, simple but not easy. This is life changing. It will change not only your life, but your experience of your life, which is basically the same thing. So this is crucial.
