Hey, guys, it's Lindsey here from positive performance and the mindset coach Academy. It is Mental Monday, this is the place you come for us together to work on our mindset in five to eight minutes. We're gonna talk about one tip tool or technique that you can use in your life today, for this week.
Lindsey 0:56
For the next few months on Mondays, I'm going to be talking about excerpts from how to become a men's performance coach, which is our new guide. If you are a mental performance coach and want to be thinking about it, you need to get this ebook. It's about 60 pages and I packed it full of information, the common questions that I get the questions that you may have that you don't even know that you have.

So go to positiveperformancetraining.com/guide, and we'll put those in the show notes as well, but positiveperformancetraining.com/guide To get your free copy.

Alright, so one of the biggest questions that I get is, do I need to be certified? Do I need to go back to school? Do I need to get my Ph.D. or master's? And my initial reaction to that is it really depends on what you want to accomplish.
Lindsey 1:49
But I will say for most people, what we really need to be focusing on like, that's kind of the wrong question. The real question is, how can you gain the knowledge and the experience to create value in the world and be able to communicate that value.
Lindsey 2:12
Now, if you want to go work somewhere, as a mindset coach, it depends what their specifications are. But to do like what I do, as a mindset, mental performance coach with my own company, the focus you should always have is on being really good at getting results. That's it.
Lindsey 2:31
So we were talking about this recently in the mindset coach Academy, and people were feeling like they need to be certified first. And I say, look, the certification is great, but not because it is some rubber stamp, you know, on one day, you're not certified and can't deliver and on the next day you are certified and can deliver.
Lindsey 2:49
That's how it works. You may feel like that, but that's not how it works. The certification is great because it teaches you how to create that value. So regardless of where you're at in your career, where you want to go, that's the lens that I want you to consider training. I think training is right, I run a certification, I think it's really, really important.
Lindsey 3:11
But most people don't know to get don't need to go get an advanced degree. Some people need extra training. But again, the training is only as good as it makes you prepared to create value. And then the second part of that would be the business training, which helps you communicate that value.
Lindsey 3:26
Okay, so those are the two things that are the difference between people that can run a successful mindset and mental performance company and those that can't, which is value, creating value in the world, and being able to communicate that value.
Lindsey 3:40
That again, you're not going to learn that in a lot of places, you're not going to learn that in academic degrees, you may learn some on the first part, how to work with the athletes and certain tools, but you're not gonna learn how to run a business.
Lindsey 3:53
So just keep that in mind. Again, trainings are great, if they serve the purpose of helping you get better at coaching, and being able to communicate that you're good at coaching. So that's the prism that I want you to consider. So those are my thoughts. If you want to know more about how to become a mental performance coach, I literally wrote the book on it.

We'll be talking more about it in subsequent mental Mondays, but I hope this was helpful for you because I know that that's a big mental block for a lot of people and think about it.
