Hi, all. And welcome to the Mindset Coach Academy. It's mental Monday. Guys. I'm going to talk about one of the biggest, I think, reasons people don't move forward becoming a Mindset coach or joining our certification.

And so if you've ever just sort of had this idea of, like, maybe I should join, I don't know, I think that maybe I'll do it someday. If you have that thought, this episode is for you. So the question that I get often in sort of different ways, but this is the basis of it is I want to do this meaning the certification or becoming a Mindset coach in an official capacity.

But I think that now is not the right time. And what I want to talk about is not whether or not it is the right time. I'm not going to argue with you on that. I want to talk about how your brain approaches making this decision.

And by the way, this is a great exercise for any big decision in your life. And so it's just a good exercise to put in your coaching toolbox. There's really two ways to make any type of decision, and one is a decision based on clean, good thoughts, based on like facts of your life. Okay?

And then there are decisions based on fear, avoidance, drama, incomplete thoughts or even false thoughts, laziness, even lies you tell yourself, limiting beliefs. And I would say for most of us. We really fall under that second category pretty often unless we intentionally move ourselves to making decisions based on the facts of our life. And the reason that we do this is because we don't separate between facts and thoughts.

And that's why we do things such as the tear process in the mindset Coach academy. And that's one of the tools that we teach that help you really sort out what's kind of true and what's not. And so the first thing that I would say is just deciding to decide based on facts, not on feelings, thoughts, lies, and maybe even like telling yourself out loud, I'm going to make a decision on moving forward as a mindset coach and holding yourself to that accum like, I will decide by next week, Friday.

And that really helps because once we actually hold ourselves to making a decision, then we have more of a time frame. Otherwise the problem is if you don't think that now is the right time, it's not like there's going to some future place where now is going to be the right time, right?

It's like it's all going to be the same because we're holding on to that thought that it's not the right time. We don't just wake up one day and think, oh, now is the right time. Now I just know, right?

And so we have to give ourselves a time frame within to make a decision or it just becomes in perpetuity. Okay? And then you want to make a decision based on real facts. So one way to do this is just really work on telling yourself the truth.

Like, I don't want to do this because I don't want to bet on myself. I don't want to do this because I'm scared it's not going to work out. I don't want to do this because I'm not really sure that I can deliver that is the truth. And it's hard. But at least when we tell ourselves the truth, then we can address real thoughts and say, okay, well, what would make me feel. Safe? What's a smaller action that I can take that's going to show me that I can step up in this way?

So tell yourself the truth and then liking your reason. So it would be something like, I don't want to do this now because some of those things that I just said or I want to do this now because now wanting to do it doesn't mean that you're not feeling scared.

It doesn't mean that you're not having doubts. It doesn't have to be the thoughts and feelings that are just like so magical. It just means you've decided that you want to do this now for whatever reason, and that is your reason.

Okay? So one way to do this is to just think of a year from now. Where do you want to be? What will it look like if you move forward in this? What will look like if you don't move forward in this? And again, here's where we have to tell ourselves the truth because there's no magical time a year from now where we have more time, where we have more money, where this decision is easier, where this decision is less scary, that doesn't exist.

So we have to tell ourselves the truth, and it certainly doesn't exist if we haven't taken action towards solving those problems. Okay? So that's, again, where we have to really tell ourselves the truth.

There's no magical future time that this resolves itself without any input on our part. Okay? So that's where we have to get sort of these clean thoughts and really examine and really hold ourselves to that decision, like our reason, and then tell ourselves the truth about it.

Okay, so move forward, or don't. That's up to you. But notice how your brain works, okay? Making the right decision is only going to come from looking at the facts and not getting into the limiting thoughts, the lies, the fear, the avoidance, the drama.

When we do that, we don't make a rational decision. We don't. We make it based on fear or we just put it off and think that there's this magical future time. They're all lies. That's all a lie. There is now. There is you making a decision. That's it. Okay?
