Hey, y'all, and welcome to Mental Monday, and the mindset coach Academy podcast. My name is Lindsey Wilson. And today we're talking about time, y'all, if you have done any of my programs, or if you have worked with me, or even just followed me for a while, you know, I talk a lot about time being a mindset issue.
Lindsey 0:56
And I think this is a really important concept. Because how many times have you thought or felt even in the last 24 hours that you didn't have any time that you didn't have enough time to do the things that you wanted to do, or you're so busy, or you're overwhelmed, or whatever sort of your special way of talking about time is.
Lindsey 1:21
And I want to just offer that when we think of a time this way, it becomes that, when we think of time as something that happens to us that we have zero control over, that is what it becomes, we like, follow time around and expect that it's just gonna like, give it itself back to us or something like we are letting it all happen.
Lindsey 1:56
And shifting to believing that you are the CEO of your time, can shift so much for you. So I get this a lot in my own work. And in my students, my clients like it is something that comes up a lot. And again, it comes up in my life because I have four kids. And what I will tell you is that as quote, unquote, busy as I am, when I decide to believe and think I start acting like the CEO of my time, which means that I work to create time for myself.
Lindsey 2:38
And make no mistake about it, it is work. I have to organize many, many things. In order for me to have time, I have to make decisions, I have to spend money, I have to organize things, I have to ask favors, I have to do all kinds of things, to allow myself to have time. But there are things that I am capable of doing that I can choose to do. If I believe that it is my responsibility.
Lindsey 3:11
That is not something happening to me. It is something that I get to go create. And this shift can seem very subtle until you do it yourself. And I promise you that if you shift to being the CEO of your time, that you will work to create time on a level that is just different than you've experienced before.
Lindsey 3:40
And yes, it takes responsibility and it takes accountability. It takes looking at yourself in the mirror and saying, Well, if I don't have any time, it's because of me. It's not because my kids, it's not because of my husband. It's not because of any of these other people, it's because I haven't created it. And that can be uncomfortable, for sure.
Lindsey 3:56
But it's also should be empowering. Because then there is something that you can do to change it. Is that something happening to you that you have just no agency over? You can control your relationship with time and doing this which is changing from time happening to you to the CEO that can create more time in your life and shifts everything.
