Hi, y'all, and welcome to the Mindset Coach Academy podcast. My name is Lindsey Wilson, and it is Mental Monday, you guys know the drill, we talked about one tip tool or technique that you can implement in your life. I have a question for you. Are you a lifelong learner? Do you consistently learn? Now you might think, Yes, of course, I do.

I take pride in being a lifelong learner. And I want to commend you for that. And also give you a word of warning. Because sometimes when we are learners, we think that we consistently have to be in learning mode all the time. And what I will offer is that it's great to be absorbing information and growing and have that growth mentality.

But what I've also seen is learning as a procrastination tool. And most people don't talk about this because it sounds so great to be a learner. And it is, of course, but you want to make sure that you are doing it for the right reasons. So let me give you a couple examples. So some people come to mindset coaching or mental performance coaching.

And they've done like a million other different certifications, or a million other courses, or a million other programs. And they keep wanting just one more before they actually go out into the world and do what they really want to do, which is teach or create, and become a mental training coach. And again, there's always gonna be that balance of learning and growing. And also creating teaching coaching.

So in other words, you want to be both an observer and a learner, and also someone that creates things for other people to learn and observe from. So that balance really has to be there. And so again, great that you're a lifelong learner, but just make sure you're doing it because you want to gather knowledge and not because it allows you to just consistently think, well, if I just do this one more thing, then I'll be ready, then I'll be able to do the scary thing, which is put myself out there.

Because that thing, that course or that training, or that certification is never going to give you the confidence. It's always gonna be scary. That thing is not going to make it easier. It might be well, it's gonna make it easier, but it's gonna make it easy. So just as you're thinking about yourself, are you consistently in that Learning Mode? Or are you also in the creating mode, because really, you need to toggle back and forth.

And maybe more realistically, is not naturally toggle back and forth, but just consistently be doing both? Right? Like, I am consistently learning I am consistently creating, even though I will go back and I will learn something and be like, well, that really wasn't what I think and now I need to create something new, that's part of it. Right?

So you're never gonna like arrive at this place where you're like, Okay, now I can create it has to happen throughout the whole time. So just be aware again, just a thought for yourself of like, am I learning because I want to learn and grow or am I procrastinating actually creating or doing or saying something of value in the world? Just make sure you're learning for the right reasons.
