Hi all and welcome to the Mindset Coach Academy podcast. My name is Lindsey Wilson, and it is Mental Monday where we talk about one tool or technique that you can implement in your life today.

Guys, this is a really, really simple one. But I want you next time you're outside or go outside with the intention, and I want you to look up, look up. Now you can do this, you know, laying down sitting down, you can look up at the clouds and you know, see the clouds going across the sky and all that beautiful, sort of meditative experience of that. That's one thing.

But you also might just look up a little bit, look to the horizon, for example. And what is true about this is that our brains are wired to scan the horizon and look for danger. And when we don't, when we are looking at our phones, or, you know, grabbing our keys out of the purse or do not pay attention, our bodies aren't sure that we're safe.

And by looking up and looking at the horizon and scanning, we are reminded that the world around us and the larger world around us is actually safe. And I was doing this morning, actually, after I dropped my daughter off at work, or sorry, at school, getting ready for work. And you know, I looked on my phone real quick and soft, any email came in, and then I put that down.

And I looked up and I immediately felt more calm. And this is just a little trick that you can just start sort of sprinkling in throughout your day. That really makes a huge difference. It really is this very simple tool that you can do at any time. Anytime that you're outside or you can do it. As I said, you can go outside with intention.

And just making sure that, you know, periodically you are looking towards the horizon and reminding yourself that you're safe. It really does calm your central nervous system.

So try it out. Give it a little try. I know that it's simple, and it might sound obvious, but it really makes a huge difference. So that's my Mental Monday thoughts.
