Hi all, and welcome to Mindset Coach Academy podcast. My name is Lindsay Wilson. And it's mental Monday where we talk about one tip tool or technique that can help you in your life today.
Lindsey 0:47
Today, guys, we're improving all the time. I want to talk about evaluation today. Now, this is something that is also wrapped up into our post-competition routine where we talk really clearly about the difference between critiquing and criticism. I'm not going to talk about that today.
Lindsey 1:05
But just know that critiquing versus criticism is a really important distinction. Because when we get overly emotional, we tend to not evaluate at all, we try to avoid it. And so making sure that we're removing the emotions from it. Now, what are the three questions that you need to be asking to evaluate yourself?
Lindsey 1:21
Now, when I'm talking about evaluate yourself, I mean, after really anything, competition, whether you're competing yourself or coaching, after a sales call, after a session, when you work with a client, after a presentation, or a webinar, these are all times when you can really benefit from improving.
Lindsey 1:40
And we want to make sure that we are improving. And the only way we can do that is by evaluating right? So these are three questions. And these are from the Agile method. And it's what went well. what didn't go well, what can I do better next time? What went well? What didn't go well? What can I do better? Next time.
Lindsey 2:01
You guys, these are three simple questions you can do really quickly, you can journal, you can think about them, you can write them down, and just take some little quick notes.
Lindsey 2:11
This is gonna be really important so that every time you do one of these things, you do a sales call, or you do a webinar or you do a presentation, you're actually looking at the places that you can shore up. And what's working.
Lindsey 2:25
This is so powerful because so often when we do something we just move right on, we just don't think about it that much. And we just move right on. And I will also one quick tip, in addition to this is not just look at the thing, but look at the before and the after.
Lindsey 2:41
What do I mean by that? If you're going into a sales call, when you're evaluating you also look at how you prepared you know, if you send any emails, if you did the calendar invite correctly, like everything that happened pre-call, and then everything that happened after the call, so any follow-ups, any emails that you sent out anything, right?
Lindsey 3:06
Because there's always the pre, during, and after. So that's what I would look at to evaluate how you're doing, you will be shocked by how much golden information is there. What went well, what didn't go well, what can I do, but what can I do better next time. Those three questions, cover it. You got it.
Lindsey 3:23
