Lindsey 00:38
Hi all and welcome to Mindset Coach Academy podcast. My name is Lindsey Wilson. And it's mental Monday, y'all know, we talk about one tip trick, or technique that you can implement in your life today. And today, I want to address a question that I get pretty often from aspiring mindset coaches.
Lindsey 00:52
And it's this, can I be a mindset coach, if I'm not good at technology? And as always, I'm going to tell you the truth. So the short answer is no, you do not have to be, quote-unquote, good at technology. But the long answer is this. At no time in human history, has the learning curve for technology been shorter. For how quickly you can get, like some serious technology results? Let me explain.
Lindsey 01:25
So yes, there is more to figure out when it comes to technology probably been there ever has been I mean, coding and back end stuff, and cloud and all this stuff. And frankly, I don't understand a lot of it. And I have a six multiple six-figure mindset coaching business. So there's that, which can be very intimidating.
Lindsey 01:46
But because there's a lot of smart people that are figuring all that stuff out, that are way better at technology than probably you are I will ever be. There are a lot of shortcuts. There are a lot of things made for quote-unquote, people that are idiots in technology. It's like technology for Dummies like you can run a business on a shoestring amount of knowledge from technology.
Lindsey 02:12
But you do have to be willing to stretch yourself and learn enough, you have to be willing to learn enough now, can you run a like fairly successful mindset coaching business just with like, handshakes and clients? Absolutely. Absolutely. And what I do encourage is most people starting their, getting overwhelmed with the technology is not one of the first even 10 steps you need to do as a mindset coach.
Lindsey 02:43
So if that's your sort of hang-up, put that to the side, you do not have to figure that out. Now. Now, at some point, if you are building your business and trying to scale, you have to figure out enough of the technology. But trust me, very smart people have made it very easy to figure out emails and figure out how to set up courses and figure out how to connect with people on social media, and create images.
Lindsey 03:10
And by the way, you have to understand enough to be able to delegate it, okay. But you don't have to figure that out now. And a lot of people get overwhelmed with that too early in their business, your first clients are going to be people likely that you see face to face, or that you call up.
Lindsey 03:29
So you do have to be able to use your phone and tell them that you can help them and then actually deliver on that. That's the focus in the beginning. It's not figuring out how to integrate your email server with your website because you don't need all that in the beginning.
Lindsey 03:45
At some point, you will. So this is what I encourage you to do. Table the idea that you need to be good at technology now. But embrace the idea that someday you are going to be good, need to be good enough. Again, I run a six-figure multiple six-figure mindset coaching business. And I'm all self-taught. I am no technology whiz. But I have and I do dive in enough to learn and grow and figure it out. And you can do that too.
Lindsey 04:17
But it's not the first 10 steps. It's probably not even the first 20 Steps, To be honest. You need to get clients, you need to get good at coaching and delivering results. The technology is a piece of it, but it's not in the beginning. So don't let that be the reason that you think you can't do this because that's an absolute lie. You do not need it and you don't even need a website in the beginning.
Lindsey 04:37
Okay, so don't get all overwhelmed with that. And when you do need a website, you can't even believe how easy it is. So that's my PSA for the day. And I include social media and all that too. You don't need all that either. Not in the beginning, at least. Maybe someday well. Alright, guys, that's my message. Happy Monday. We'll see you the next week. Bye for now.
