Hi all and welcome to the Mindset Coach Academy podcast. My name is Lindsey Wilson. And it's mental Monday, y'all. This is where we take one tip, tool, or technique and teach you it so you can implement it in your life. I want to talk about the cost of indecision.

And what I want you to imagine is that there is a bank account in your name of time. And in that time, account, you get to deposit all of the past time that you have wasted stopping and starting something. Indecision, hemming and hawing drama, voluntary confusion, all of that space and energy. And emotion that you have spent on Indecision is now sitting in a time bank account with your name on it. And imagine how much is in there.

Now, what I don't want you to do is think of that bank account and think, Oh, God, why did I do that? That's life. It is life to look back and think 2020 vision is 2020. Hindsight is 2020. Now, so I don't want you to do that. But I do want you to use it as a learning opportunity of thinking moving forward, I am going to make decisions.

Now, this is a challenging one, because decision-making does have to be thorough, so that you don't stop and start, right that's like the catch-22 is you don't want to do things impulsively. But you also don't want to hem and haw. But you wanna make sure that's the right decision. Otherwise, you'll stop and start. And this is what I am practicing.

And that is taking a set amount of time thinking deeply thinking, listening to my intuition, but making sure that I am willing to go the distance with that decision. So for example, I've stopped and started a lot of things. But let's say I have a project within my business, the first step would be making sure that, that thing that I think that I want to do matches up with what I say that I want long term, that's the first thing. That's how you always need to.

And this is what we do with mindset coaching Collective is we have a yearly goal sheet. And so you look at that and make sure that this is in line in alignment with what you say that you want in your life pillars that's really, really important. And then making sure that you are willing to see it through.

So if there's this project, you have to know that there's gonna be ups and downs, there's going to be times when you think it's not a good idea, there's going to be times when you want to quit, there are going to be failures, whatever it is, that is part of it. So we can't just make decisions from the idea that this is exciting.

And it's gonna be exciting all the way through because that's not how it works, there's going to be the low points, and you have to make sure that you are willing to see it through. And then the third step would be actually seeing it through. So give yourself a set amount of time of I'm going to be doing I'm gonna be going in this direction for three months or six months.

And I'm going to do this and this is what we're doing actually in our insider program. Our follow-up to the certification, I'm taking my certified students through this process for building their business and committing to one offer. So we commit to one offer, we make sure that it aligns with what we say that we want in our life.

We make sure that we understand consciously and rationally that there's gonna be ups and downs with this, there's no right offer and then committing to seeing it through to get better at that one offer for the next six months. But you can do this for anything. Again, three steps, making sure that aligns long term with what you say that you want.

You know, for us in the in my teachings, it's we called Life pillars and then making sure that we understand that we are willing to go the distance with this idea or this thing, right, we can't just make decisions based on the excitement we feel in the moment, we have to actually make sure that we are going to be willing to do it when it's hard.

One of the best examples I've heard of this is like, the thinking of running a marathon. Well, you can think about the finish line, how good it's going to feel. But you also have to think about, like, the morning wake-ups when it's raining, and you don't want to do your training runs, right, like that kind of thinking.

And then the third step would be actually seeing it through especially for a set amount of time. And knowing that you're gonna want to deviate knowing that we're on your own what the excitement of the shiny new object knowing that you're going to switch your decision.

So if you can do that, you will build up this time bank account of all this time that is not wasted, that is actually there for you to use. Imagine how much time and energy you're gonna have, when you don't spend it, coming back and rethinking about something, make a freaking decision.

And I'm saying that with love because I have to do it too. We make decisions and we stick with them. Even though it is easier, and actually feels better to switch them up. Stay the course, stay the course. Make a decision, you are going to have so much more time, so much more energy, and you're going to learn and grow faster because you're not wasting time.

You know, hemming and hawing going over here and over there and over there and do you're gonna stay the course and you're and make a frickin decision, and you're gonna get some shit done. Alright. Alright, guys, that's how we do it. That's how we do it. You got that bank account of time, waiting for you gonna build it up and you're gonna use all of it to make progress super fast.
