Lindsey 00:37
Hi all, welcome to Mindset Coach Academy podcast. My name is Lindsey Wilson, and today is mental Monday where we talk about one tip tool or technique that you can implement in your life today, right now.
Lindsey 00:47
All right, I wanted to talk about how successful we all want, right? And we think that success comes from hard work. I don't think that's true. I think hard work is a part of it. But what I have seen in my life, and those of my students remember, I've coached hundreds of students, and athletes being successful.
Lindsey 01:12
We're talking about athletes and coaches, we're talking about 1000s. And mindset coaches building their mindset coaching businesses. And what I see is that success is actually not related directly to how hard you work. What it is related to is how hard you will push yourself into scary things, most notably, rejection and failure.
Lindsey 01:40
So I don't work that many hours, I can't, I got four kids. And the way that I've been able to cut down my hours is make sure the time that I spend is on high-value things. And one of the most high-value things that you can do in your life, whether you're an entrepreneur or not, is stepped into areas where you can fail and get rejected.
Lindsey 02:09
So again, any kind of success, we think, Well, I'm just gonna hustle, hustle, hustle work, we're really, really, really hard. Well, that's great. But if those activities are not where you could fail, and not where you could experience rejection, you're not pushing yourself enough, and you're not making enough headway in the time that you have.
Lindsey 02:29
So my mindset coaching students, their success, as a mindset coach has very little to do with how much they work, how many hours they work, and so much more related to how many of those hours are actually spent talking to humans, actually putting out offers actually hearing No, actually putting themselves out and interacting with other humans, where they could fail, where they could look silly, where their ego could get bruised, all of those things, those are high-value activities.
Lindsey 03:00
And the same for you whether you're a business owner or not. And to some degree, we're talking about athletics to right like, you can practice all you want and practice is important. But more hours in the gym isn't the same as being in those high-pressure situations in those games where you could fail, where you could, miss the last-second shot.
Lindsey 03:23
Those are the things the high-pressure situations, the high-value activities that are actually going to get you to the next level. And it's not about how many hours so whatever your area in your life that you want to improve, whether that's your business, or your career, or your sports career, or whatever, or even dating, and if there's something like daily like you have to put yourself out there.
Lindsey 03:46
Your success is related, strongly related, correlated, to how willing you are to put yourself out there to get rejected, to experience failure to bruise your ego. So my question for you today is a place in your life where you want fail or who you want success. Are you willing to fail?
Lindsey 04:07
Are you putting yourself out there enough, good, don't tell yourself you need more hours you don't. You need more high-value activity towards that thing. And it's going to hurt. I can tell you that much.
Lindsey 04:19
You're going to experience rejection and failure and it's going to suck at times. But that's the only way to move forward. And we have to have that honest conversation with ourselves. If we want success.
Lindsey 04:29
We have to be willing to experience failure and rejection otherwise, we don't want it bad enough. More hours are not going to get you around the rejection and the failure is just not so high-value activities. You want success. Go for it.
Lindsey 04:45
Make sure you understand and make sure you're putting yourself in the way of feeling rejection and failure because that is the only way to the success that you say that you want. Alright guys, have a great day. Bye for now.
