Lindsey 00:38
Hi all, and welcome to the mindset coach Academy podcast. My name is Lindsey Wilson. And it's mental Monday guys, where we work on one tip, trick or technique to help you just be badass in your life and badass today. Okay, so, as always, these exercises, these mental Mondays come from my own life, they come from my student's life, and they pop in and they say hello, and I have to share them. And then I hear from you guys, often that it was like the one thing you needed to hear.
Lindsey 01:11
Or it was like this little tiny, simple thing that shifted how your day was going. And so I just want you to know that I hear you, I see you, thank you for sharing when the stuff helps you thank you for sharing with a friend. Thank you for showing up and being here.
Lindsey 01:26
All right. This is one that, as a lot of these things, comes up in my life often. And I want you to especially think about this if you're feeling weak, vulnerable, confused, or just not at your best self this week, or today. And if you don't feel that way, file this away for the future.
Lindsey 01:52
So oftentimes, when I feel weak, I wonder if I can do it. And that sounds a little bit dramatic. But I wonder if I can get to the next level, or I wonder if I can help other people, I wonder, you know, a lot of doubts come up, right? And that is one sign that you're doing something right, that means you're pushing yourself.
Lindsey 02:13
But I also want to give you just one little trick that has worked really, really well for me, and that when I feel, let's call it some sort of negative emotion, let's call it weakness. Because that's often when doubts come in. When you feel weak, help somebody else. Because when you do, it will illuminate your strengths. And I see this with my students. So often.
Lindsey 02:40
Now, when we are feeling weak, we start maybe feeling like we don't have anything to offer. And then we get very singularly focused on ourselves, we get focused on our ego, we get focused on ours, the places that we don't like about ourselves or what we can't do. And when we shift that to helping somebody else, we are empowered, to stop thinking about ourselves, we are empowered to help somebody get to their next level.
Lindsey 03:13
And we recognize that there is so much strength in ourselves that we can build off of. And it really shifts things, it really allows you to step out of that. I don't know if you can call it like a victim mentality or just like just a kind of sad place. And it puts you it's, it flips that. And it puts you in this place of power and strength.
Lindsey 03:37
And you get those positive emotions from helping somebody and it shows you that you really are badass and bless you to help somebody. So it may not be your first instinct, your first interview may be to pull back, but override that. Because we have something called the prefrontal cortex, which allows us to override that natural instinct and say, no, no, no, I'm not gonna sit here and think about all the things that I'm not, I'm going to do something that I am, and I'm gonna go help somebody and when you do that, everything changes.
Lindsey 04:06
You get momentum, you get positive momentum, and you move forward in a way that is good for the world. So that's my challenge for you today. When you feel weak. Go help someone else feel strong. You will feel strong afterward. Alright, guys, that's all I got. I'll see you again next week. Have a great week, everybody. Take care.
