Hi all and welcome to the Mindset Coach Academy podcast. My name is Lindsay Wilson, today's mental Monday, you know, what we do. We talk about one tool or technique that you can implement in your life. Takes about five minutes to listen to this bad boy. And then you get to go really change your day and change your life.

Today I want to talk about what is the story in your head right now, I just got off one of our mindset coaching collective calls. And we were talking about when we are in a situation that's hard. Often we have a pathway in our brain that is wired, right that a path that is well taken, and well established. And so we follow these patterns, I call it the negative train, right? Where you have some challenge in your life, or you have something that's difficult.

And then you start layering on all of these thoughts. And what I want you to do so in this instance, oftentimes, we're talking about in a business or relationships, and we get down this path, right? Where we think about how busy we are, we think about how we don't get anything done. We think about all these responsibilities we have in our life, we think about how there's not enough time in the day we think about anywhere I have these.

And then you start sort of spiraling, right? Well, I can't accomplish what I want to do. Why am I not further along? Maybe it's too late for me, right? And from the when I say all this out loud, you probably like oh, that's kind of crazy to say all those negative things. But how often do we do that? And it starts with this sort of storyline, right? I call it a path. But it's really like this well ingrained wiring, that is so almost comforting for so many of us that it's just so familiar, I should say. It's what we've always done, or it's what we've usually done.

And, it's not that it's so, so easy to just flip a switch and be done with that way of thinking. It's not so simple as that. But it can be simple to take a beat. And hopefully this podcast maybe serves that rule for you taking a beat and recognizing that they are just thoughts, that is just a story you are telling yourself. It is not fact, it is not reality. It is something that you are creating perception is reality, right.

And it's not that we have to not do this, it's not that we're never going to make a story again. And it's not that we're ever going to go down the wrong path of thinking. And it's not that we're ever going to not Spire, it's not that we're gonna stop spiraling altogether, that it's catching it.

And recognizing that we have agency at every moment, no matter what happened, no matter how far down the path we are, in that moment, this moment right now do decide to recognize and be aware that this is a story that this is not fact that this is not a foregone conclusion. That is this is not reality. This is a story. This is a thought these are a collection of thoughts. And if that is true, which it is, we have the ability to shift it, we have the ability to change the story, we have the ability to tell ourselves different thoughts.

So that's what I want you to think about today. Monday, whenever you're listening to this. What is a situation in your life that you're struggling with feels hard feels friction, whatever it is, and what is the story? You are telling yourself about that situation? And if you could tell a different story what would that story be you don't even have to switch it you'd have to be aware that you can switch it.
