Hi, and welcome to the Mindset Coach Academy Podcast. Today it is mental Monday, and we are talking all about Mindset, how to live it, how to teach it, and how to sell it.
Lindsey 00:24
Hey, y'all, and welcome to Mental Monday, I want to talk about selling, in particular for Mindset coaches.
Lindsey 00:31
So if you're an aspiring mindset coach, listen up, if you're not, I still think this is going to be helpful for you because we are all selling something. But this is particular for the selling component of what we teach at Positive Performance.
Lindsey 00:45
So if you are a mindset coach, again, or an aspiring mindset coach, it's really important to understand what is realistic from a sales perspective. So let me give you an example. We're talking this week in the certification about realistic metrics. And one situation that many people find themselves in, is hosting a webinar.
Lindsey 01:07
Now, let's imagine that you hosted a webinar, and 100 people registered, and you got all done up, you got your makeup on, and you got all set, and you got your coffee and your water and you're ready to go on live. And when you get into the webinar room, there are like seven people, right? And immediately your heart sinks and immediately you go to, well, no one wants to see or hear what I have to say, or I'm not good at this, or this is a waste of time, or I'm not cut out for this. And maybe some more people trickle in, and maybe eventually you get up to about 20, maybe 25. Okay, so 25% of the people have attended live, the people that registered.
Lindsey 01:52
If you don't understand realistic metrics, you may think that this is a big huge flop. And when your brain goes there, how do you think that webinar’s going to go? Probably not as good as if you're excited about it, and you feel like you knocked it out of the park because the industry standard is about 25% of people showing up live, a lot of people will watch the replay. A lot of people will watch it afterward if you promote it.
Lindsey 02:22
But if you think that it is a flop, you are not going to show up with your full self, you're not going to be excited. Maybe you don't ask for the sale or give people a strong call to action at the end. Maybe you don't even send out the replay because you think Well, I'm not good at this. Nobody wants to hear what I have to say.
Lindsey 02:38
Okay, so understanding the realistic metrics from a sales perspective. And again, this applies to anybody, even if you're not a selling mindset coaching, this is important.
Lindsey 02:48
Now, we always want to up that number, we always want to get from 25 people to 30 people to attend to 35 to 40. And we can certainly tweak how we're doing, what emails we're sending out, how we're talking to people, the topic, how we're promoting it, there are a million things we can tweak and we should but do you know who doesn't tweak things? People think that they're just not good at them.
Lindsey 03:11
It is very hard to have a growth mentality and tweak things. If you think the problem is you. And a lot of people jump to the problem of buying them because they don't know realistic metrics. A lot of people start mindset coaching or start a business and think sales are going to be easy. They think they're going to knock it out of the park, because they know a lot of people or because a lot of people have told them that they want their mindset coaching services and telling somebody that you want them and actually putting your credit card down is a whole new ballgame.
Lindsey 03:42
This is why coaching and support and our certification and all those things are so important because the mental component and understanding your metrics, which help your mental approach to selling are important, because the minute you think the problem is you, you fall back, you play small, you pull back into safety and you think you're just not cut out for this. And I cannot tell you how many people do that. Know your metrics, at least what is realistic. And it may not be industry standard, sometimes it's hard to tell. But you can at least get a range.
Lindsey 04:19
And then you can at least show up in a way that says, You know what? I got 20 people to show up. I'm going to try for 30 next time, but that was awesome. So you don't sit there disappointed with your makeup on and your coffee all ready and think that you're a shitty mindset coach, because you didn't know what was realistic. Right?
Lindsey 04:36
